About CURGO

Mission

The Center for Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity (CURGO) provides resources for students seeking research experiences and graduate degrees.

CURGO coordinates pipeline programs to increase student access to advanced degrees. CURGO supports faculty research with undergraduate students.

CURGO houses the Ronald E. McNair Post- Baccalaureate Achievement Program which is funded by the U.S. Department of Education to prepare low-income/first-generation and under represented students for Ph.D. programs. McNair scholars participate in semi-monthly seminars, visit graduate programs, conduct research internships in the summer and present their findings at conferences.

Xavier University of Louisiana hosts excellent opportunities for pre-collegiate and college students during the summer. CURGO staff coordinates the operation ofall Xavier pre-college summer programs.
